sitters Certified
Sitters Certified offers Safe Sitter training and certification for youth in San Marcos, North County San Diego and Orange County California. We prepare and certify students in grades 4-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
In addition to being a certified Safe Sitter, we believe that sitters should also be CPR certified. To make this convenient, we have partnered up with an independent American Heart Association instructor to train and certify new Safe Sitters in CPR at the end of our Safe Sitter courses.
ABOUT
SAFE sitter
For 40 years, Safe Sitter® has been a leader in providing life skills, safety skills, and child care training for youth. Now a national nonprofit organization with over 900 Registered Providers Safe Sitter continues to help build safer communities by providing youth with the skills they need to be safe while home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.
The Safe Sitter® Mission is to provide life skills, safety skills, and child care training to all youth in order to build safer communities.
Who should take Safe Sitter Classes?
Anyone who is ready to stay home alone, watch their brothers and sisters while parents are gone, or babysit younger children. Safe@Home and Safe Sitter is for young teens in grades 4-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to care for themselves and younger children.
In addition, Safe Sitter teaches young teens life and business skills, so that they know how to be prepared, be responsible, and be considerate whether they are babysitting or doing odd jobs for family, friends, or neighbors.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Safe@Home
Safe@Home is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe when they are home alone.Safe@Home is a 2 hour program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

Safe Sitter® Expanded with CPR Certification
This 13 hour course designed for students in grades 6-8 and covers four areas of the curriculum: Safety Skills, Child Care Skills, First Aid and Rescue Skills, and Life and Business Skill. Participants will also be tested and certified in CPR through the American Heart Association by an Independent AHA instructor.

American Heart Association CPR Certification
Please Note: In addition to being a certified Safe Sitter we believe that sitters should also be CPR certified. To make this convenient, we have partnered up with an independent American Heart Association instructor to train and certify new Safe Sitters in CPR at the end of our Safe Sitter courses. The CPR Certification fee of $60 is to be paid to the instructor the day of the CPR certification. Further details will be included in a follow up email after registration.
The course fees are non-refundable, however if your student becomes sick, please do not send them to class. I will work with you to get them signed up in the next Safe Sitter course offered.
